About
My professional journey encompasses a diverse array of experiences across the political, social, and religious spheres, spanning local, regional, and national landscapes. Through my leadership, I’ve cultivated a broad sphere of influence, fostering tangible and positive transformations.
My comprehensive curriculum vitae encapsulates a rich tapestry of professional and voluntary endeavors, reflecting engagements at various levels. These range from grassroots community development initiatives with homeless shelters, healthcare, cancer charities, and interfaith organizations, to regional collaborations in education and law enforcement, and culminating in strategic board-level contributions to governmental bodies and national charitable organizations.
A cornerstone of my expertise lies in effective communication, characterized by confidence, eloquence, and authority. I possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, adept at articulating concepts with clarity and purpose.
Adaptability is another hallmark of my communication prowess, evidenced by my extensive media engagements across platforms such as radio and television, including notable appearances on programmes that include BBC Breakfast, Sky News, Victoria Derbyshire, Sunday Morning Live, and The Big Questions. Additionally, I’ve undertaken the role of a weekly news reviewer with Islam Channel and frequently contribute to radio interviews, newspaper articles, academic journals, and my personal blog.
Moreover, I’ve assumed pivotal leadership roles, serving as a Governor at a number of Colleges across the country, a member of Staffordshire Police Authority, many voluntary organisations and more recently a member of the Staffordshire Police and Fire Commissioners Ethics Transparency and Audit Panel. Currently, I hold positions as a Council Member at Keele University, a Governor at Westminster Academy (London), and a Board member of the North Staffordshire YMCA. I serve as Chair of the Board of Trustees for Nisa-Nashim, a national network of Jewish and Muslim women, and as a Director of the Association of British Muslims.

Feedback from schools

“The talk was brilliant and really appreciated. I have been able to refer back to it many times in my lessons and it has helped pupils to recall the information. I would love to arrange to repeat these two sessions again at the same time next year”.

“Hifsa was absolutely amazing. Her organisation, use of personal materials/artefacts,
knowledge, understanding and guidance throughout the workshop was exemplary”.

“I felt comfortable asking questions I’d usually be too embarrassed to ask in class.”
“I learned loads and I’m usually half asleep at that time”.
“”My daughter has been telling me all about the Islam workshop today. She loved meeting Hifsa and learning about her life as a Muslim. I am in awe of the children’s knowledge about other religions and days like this really encourage understanding of other people and diversity, whilst also recognising similarities with our own faith as Christians. Thank you to all involved.”
“”The day with Hifsa in school was nothing but positive from start to finish. Hifsa communicated with school as soon as we made the booking and ensured each workshop was tailored to build on the children’s prior knowledge after speaking to the staff. The pupils particularly enjoyed the active parts of the session like trying on the outfits, reenacting prayer and carrying out a role-play Wudu. It was all VERY carefully planned and the children thoroughly enjoyed it. A BIG thank you from us.”
